Mason Williams Is the First Brick. Kentucky's 2026 Class Finally Has a Name.
For months, Kentucky's 2026 recruiting class was a blank page โ no commits, no momentum, and a growing list of misses on the biggest names in the country. Caleb Holt went to Arizona. Christian Collins went to USC. Tyran Stokes, the No. 1 prospect in the country from Louisville, appears headed to Kansas. Then on March 27, four-star point guard Mason Williams โ the 109th-ranked prospect in the class and the son of former NBA All-Star and current Jackson State head coach Mo Williams โ committed to Kentucky. He's a 6-2 floor general from Tennessee Collegiate Academy in Millington, Tennessee. He is Kentucky's first and, for now, only 2026 commitment. One recruit doesn't make a class. But every Kentucky dynasty started somewhere โ and Pope's Year 3 roster will be built primarily through the transfer portal, not the high school ranks. Williams is the foundation piece. The portal opens April 7.
