This Isn't Exhibition Ball. Boeheim's Army Comes to Memorial Sunday, and La Familia Is Three Wins From $2 Million.
While Big Blue Nation spent the week posting about the roster's Vegas bonding trip and celebrating a four-star 2027 commit, the only Kentucky team actually playing for something right now was busy grinding out a rock fight in Lexington — and they won it. La Familia survived Louisville's alumni in a decisive Game 3, 63-57, and the reward is the nastiest draw in the whole bracket: Boeheim's Army, the Syracuse graybeards who won this entire tournament in 2021 and have been TBT's bluest blood for a decade. Sunday at 2 p.m. on FOX inside Memorial Coliseum, $2 million sits on the table with three wins between BBN's old guard and the money — and if you're writing this off as a glorified pickup game, you're the only one who is. Louisville's Montrezl Harrell just hung 35 on La Familia in Game 2 of that series; nobody in this field is a pushover, and Boeheim's Army least of all. Fill Memorial, make it loud — this is the most meaningful Kentucky basketball anybody plays until November, and the men in the throwbacks earned every second of it.
