A key member of the 1996 national championship team, McCarty's defensive versatility and energy were vital to Kentucky's 34-2 campaign. Drafted 19th overall by the New York Knicks, he went on to win an NBA championship with the 2008 Boston Celtics and later returned to Kentucky as an assistant coach.
