The Most Outstanding Player of the 1998 Final Four, Sheppard scored 16 points in the championship game victory over Utah to cap Kentucky's seventh national title. His career was unique — he redshirted the 1996-97 season by choice, missing a Final Four run, then returned to lead the 1998 Wildcats to the championship.
