Hawthorne was the highest-ranked recruit remaining in the 2025 class when he signed with Kentucky after decommitting from West Virginia, and at 6-8 with a 7-3 wingspan, his physical tools are exceptional. He hasn't played meaningful minutes this season — that's expected for a late-signing freshman on a roster this deep — but Coach Pope has said his trajectory is the steepest in the entire class, and he carries a 4.0 GPA. This is a long-term investment that will pay dividends.
