Kentucky's first seven-footer and the dominant force behind the 1951 NCAA championship, Spivey scored 22 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in the title game victory over Kansas State. He was a consensus First Team All-American and Helms Foundation National Player of the Year in 1951, averaging 19.3 points per game across two varsity seasons in which Kentucky went 57-5.
