A member of the 1953-54 Kentucky team that went 25-0, Bird averaged 16.2 points and 11.3 rebounds per game as a senior in 1955-56, scoring 713 career points and hauling in 589 rebounds in just three seasons. A charter member of the UK Athletics Hall of Fame, his #22 jersey hangs in the Rupp Arena rafters.
