The son of head coach Tubby Smith, Saul endured relentless taunts from opposing fans and proved he belonged by finishing ninth all-time at Kentucky in career assists with 363 and 11th in steals with 152 across 143 games. He was a freshman on the 1998 national championship team and helped UK win three SEC regular-season and tournament titles during his four years. Smith went on to serve as an assistant coach alongside his father at multiple programs.
