One of the most athletic and versatile defenders in Kentucky history, Cauley-Stein developed over three seasons into SEC Defensive Player of the Year as a junior in 2014-15, averaging 8.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks on the 38-1 team. Drafted sixth overall by the Sacramento Kings, his evolution from raw freshman to lottery pick exemplified patient development.
