A three-time All-American and four-time All-SEC selection who helped Kentucky win back-to-back NCAA championships (1948, 1949) and the 1948 Olympic gold medal as part of the 'Fabulous Five.' He is the only athlete in Kentucky history to have his number retired in both basketball and football, widely regarded as the greatest all-around athlete in UK history.
