A two-time All-American who helped Kentucky win the 1951 NCAA championship and starred on the undefeated 25-0 squad of 1953-54, once scoring 51 points in a single game to set a school record that stood for 16 years. He was the first former Kentucky player inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, going on to become a five-time NBA All-Star.
